Hi all,

Does anyone know of any concrete benefits of the PIX over these other two firewalls? I appreciate everyone will go with "the one they know" but are there any differences that I could put forward in the PIX's favour?

cheers for your time.

Andy

I think netscreen charges per seat/head for their IPSec client software. Cisco doesn't. So if you are pitching it as a combo firewall/end user vpn solution, you need to price the total deployment cost.

Thanks - thats a great one.

Andy... just switched last weekend from a Watch Guard FireBox II to a PIX 515E. I noticed better performance and combined with WebSense, the url filtering is at least 10X better. The basic VPN client is free and can be downloaded from the Security section on Cisco. They only charge for the higher encrypytion VPN.

I haven't tried the filtering on the watchguard but I will take your experience - thankyou.
