Anyone know if the PIX firewalls will soon be able to run OSPF as a routing protocol? I'm looking at it as an option to the existing Failover option for redundancy. Failover works well but you need to put additional switches in place to be fully redundant. If the box ran OSPF, convergence could quickly reroute traffic to the functioning PIX allowing two PIXs to be connected via across over cable to an internal router.

There is no current roadmap for OSPF on PIX.
Why don't you run OSPF & RIP on the routers connected to PIX, and redistribute OSPF into RIP, and conditionally control the default route using route-maps to be injected into RIP.

Correction to above posting.
OSPF on PIX is planned in PIX version 6.3 which will be out sometime next year.
