I have acquired on a PIX and want to implement it on my home network... I have access to the configuration (old one which is the running config) I have editted the outside and inside IP added the network the acl. I can ping both the inside and outside interface but it's not allowing traffic through. Am I missing a step??
Also I have setup tftp server... what is the exact syntax to save the current configuration??

What version of OS are you running ? try
write net
for your access have you setup NAT ie.
nat (inside) 1 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0
global (outside) 1 interface

Hi Ja,
Is the traffic not flowing from the inside network to the outside or vice-versa?
If traffic is not flowing in to out, you need the nat and the glob commands, as Jon suggested. For out to in traffic, you will need a static NAT translation and an access-list entry allowing traffic on the outside ACL.
Hope this helps!

Anu
