PIX Upgrade in Failover.

Hi,

I have 2 PIX’s in Failover running 6.1(3). I am going to upgrade to 6.2(1). I would like to upgrade them remotely but the way I have done it previously is to turn one off as the newer version one comes online. Are there any problems with leaving 2 different versions running for a couple of mins while I telnet to the other box and TFTP the new code to it. I know its not supported but I don’t really want to come into work at 1am to do the upgrade.

Having two different versions will effectively stop failover from working properly, so while it shouldn't cause any catastrophic problems, you'll probably find you havea longer outage during the upgrade cause you won't have the redundancy that failover provides for you.
