Hi everyone,
There is an inherited limitation on the number of span ports on the Cisco switches. this limit is 2 local span port and 64 rspan.
There is a work around to expand that using Virtual Span to increase the numbre of desination port.
In my setup, this is not helpful. I have 6500 switch with both FWSM and NAM-2 modules, this pretty much consumes the two available span ports. Is there any other options to be able to span traffic over vlan or L3 port without disabling the NAM2 netflow?
My setup using;
Sup720, Native IOS, 12.2.18SXD4
Many thanks

As far as I know, there is no other option available...

Hi,
Thanks for your reply,
I was able to find an alternative way to do so. By using VCAL and the capture command. The only caveat is this has to happen on per vlan basis not per interface. the destination could be a physical interface or a vlan
thanks
