Power Consumption of Cisco ASA 5525-X

Dear,

We had Cisco ASA 5525-X with Spec Input (per Power Supply) as below

AC range line voltage : 100 to 240 VAC

AC current : 4.85A

We put this device in our data center (DC), the DC caculates  the Power Consumption is 220 VAC* 4.85A = 1.067VA

So the total Power Consumption = 1.067VA , it's too high and not correct.

Can you check and show me any document show the detail AC of this device.

As i see in http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/security/asa-5500-x-series-next-generation-firewalls/data-sheet-c78-729807.html

The AC of  Cisco ASA 5545-X is very clear.

5A, 100 to 120V

2.5A, 200 to 240V

 Rgds,

Vu Thanh

At 220VAC 2.5A will be consumed.  220*2.5=550VA of 0.55kVA (assuming a perfect power factor of "1").

The spec sheet is only stating the worst case, when the power supply is 100V.

Hi Philip,

Any document is showing that at 220 VAC the AC is 2.5A for 5525-X ?

The numbers for the power supply don't seem correct. The datasheet lists the max output as 108 watts.  Assuming a 90% power supply efficiency, only 120 watts input power would be required, which equates to 1 Amp.

2.5A as per Philip D'Ath makes sense but we need a reference !! specs sheet didn't write a note that it is the worst case
