Qns abt PIX Failover

Hi,

I have few qns here. Simple setup as follows :

Primary Inside : 10.1.1.1 (Active)

Secondary Inside : 10.1.1.2 (Standby)

Suppose i have a workstation's gateway set to 10.1.1.1, after failing over, wat happens to the 10.1.1.1? Is it taken up by the Secondary PIX? I'm not sure if the concept is almost the same as HSRP but pls advise me.

When a failover occurs, the PIX's swap IP and MAC addresses over (MAC addresses are swapped so you don't run into ARP issues). If your inside host has 10.1.1.1 as its default gateway then it shouldn't lose connectivity for more than a few seconds (dependent on your timer settings).
