Hi all,
I’m new to the ASA licensing, but on our 5505 we have a RA-vpn with 8 peers, I have been asked to add another 7 users to it along with a L2l IPsec vpn that all fine but, I’m unsure how the licencing works. Currently it’s on the Base license: below is the
Licensed features for this platform:
Total VPN Peers : 10 perpetual
Does that line, count for the RA and L2l peers or just for the remote users? i.e.
1 x L2l VPN and 9 RA users concurrently connected or just 10 RA users or L2ls?
Also if I setup all 15 users would the first 10 users only be able to connect?
We are often all connected to the VPN, so once I add the new users and the L2 we will go over the license count. From what I have read my only option is the Security Plus license (Part # ASA5505-SEC-BUN-K9 ).
Can anyone please confirm and clarify this if it’s incorrect?
Thanks a lot

You are correct. The figure 10 applies to the combined total of RA VPNs and site to site VPNs so if you need more than a total of 10 you will need to upgrade to the Security Plus license.
