Hi all
I have been testing to backup and restore the ASA 5505 using TFTP server, but it seems not to work.
OK at the moment we have ASA 5505 and everything works fine so I issued "copy flash tftp" then I provided 3 files one at a time i.e. asa722-k8.bin, asdm-522.bin and running-config. I doulbe checked on TFTP server there are 3 files there.
Then I have something change on ASA while I worked on VPN but it did not work at all, so I want to get back to the point that it worked well when I backed it up as mentioned above.
So I issued "copy tftp flash" and I provided 3 files one at a time.
But it is never the same as before when it used to work well.
Another question: command "write m" does it save the running-config to the flash memory? so when I reboot the ASA it should get me back where I issue "write m" command. Please confirm it
Any help would be appreciated.

when backing up or restoring a config, use the following syntax:
to back up -
copy running-config/startup-config tftp
to restore -
copy tftp startup-config
reboot to the new startup config
you are correct on the usage of write mem
You don't need to backup/restore the bin files everytime.
