Quick question regarding ASA upgrade

We're in the process of wanting to upgrade our ASA 5525-x image, but our FirePOWER module is managed by Firepower Management Center. What would be the upgrade process? Would we upgrade ASDM and ASA version using the ASDM than upgrade the FirePOWER module from FMC?

Upgrading the ASA and ASDM images is done locally just as it always was. (One can also do it remotely if managing the ASA using Cisco Security Manager or Cisco Defense Orchestrator.)

Your Firepower service module is upgraded from FMC.

Just be sure to check the compatibility guide to make sure you don't get too far out of step.

Thanks for the quick reply.

The ASA and FirePower module are compatible, but the FirePower module is not compatible with the ASDM version. In that case what would be the upgrade procedure? Would you ignore the ASDM requirements since the FirePower module is managed by FMC?

Thanks!

Nevermind I believe I understand this. We would go through the procedure of upgrading each of firewalls, upload the ASDM and ASA image and upgrade the firepower module from FMC as the final step before reloading our two paired firewalls.
