Replacing a failed primary FTD device in a failover cluster

Hi,

I have a FTD device in a Failover Cluster that I need to replace. Everything is managed by FMC. This was the primary node, so now I have the secondary node active. I will break the failover before installing the new node, but I want to understand what will happen when I rebuilt the failover set. To prevent that the new device tries to sync it's configuration, I assume I need to select the secondary node as the new primary node when I recreate the failover set. If this is the case, can I switch back the roles of the primary and secondary nodes after the failover configuration is done?

Thanks

/Chess
