I have a customer with several ASA-IC-6GE-SFP-B= expansion cards. We need to retrieve the serial numbers to add them onto Smartnet support.
Unfortunately it appears that the normal "show inventory" does not report serial number of the cards. The output we get is as follows:
Name: "module 1", DESCR: "ASA 5525-X Interface Card 6-port GE SFP, SX/LX"
PID: ASA-IC-6GE-SFP-B , VID: N/A , SN: N/A
That's from an ASA 5525-X running 9.4(1) software.
Does anybody know if there's any way (short of powering down the units and pulling out the cards to read the label) to get the serial numbers for these cards?

Try "show controller", However AFAIK there is no way to see serial number unless you check physically.

Thanks for the suggestion but that didn't work either.

Then you are left with only option for checking serial number physically

try show module command.

Sorry - "show module" does not show them either.
We ended up putting in four serial numbers that were among the larger number this customer had purchased.
Cisco put me in a catch-22 as Partner Help desk would not provide a solution as they claimed this was not a presales question. Even after I pointed out the customer was trying to buy smartnet and was thus PRE sales. They said I need to call TAC even though there is not support contract. I threw up my hands at that point and provided incorrect information in order to get the task completed.
