Is there a way to reconfigure the expired trial license on the Secure Firewall 4200 series just to operate the device temporarily? The issue is that the smart license has already expired and failed to load onto the firewall due to an internal issue. Another issue is that I cannot access the GUI even through a point-to-point connection because the FMC’s management port remains in an amber state, even after changing the cables.

You can re-image and obtain a 90-day trial license, then restore the configuration.

Amber state on the front panel or the Ethernet cable?

this is not true, depends on initial setup it ask you locally or remote management, if you setup remote, then you have only option of FMC.

Connect the console cable and check, are you able to ping the Gateway from box ?

Last year, when I set up the 4200 series, there's no option for FMD and it was also stated in the document before that it was not supported. I have configured FDM in firepower 1150, so I have an idea on how to config FDM.
Regarding console, I can ping the gateway.
