Slow performance with ip inspection on Cisco 827

Hi all!

I'm trying to configure an old Cisco 827 with my home dsl connection (12Mbps/1).

Despite the fact that the 827 cannot take advantage of such speeds, there's something wrong with my config since I cannot download anything above 60Kbps once I apply ip inspection to my router.

I don't think it's a router related issue since cpu utilization is quite low while downloading (9%/12%).

If anyone could please take a look at the attached file and post some comments, it would be appreciated!

Kind regards,

Rui Teixeira

A smaller unit, such as a Cisco 827 router, may not run optimally with heavy ip inspect statements;

you may notice slow performance. In that event, it is recommended that you only inspect the ip header of each packet, rather than the payload as well. You can tell if you are inspecting the payload by the ip inspect statement, such as:

ip inspect name FW smtp timeout 3600
