Hi,

I forgot the community string (password) that configured for snmp.

When I ran the show run command, only asterisks were displayed instead.

Is there any way that I can display or retrieve it ?

Please help !!

hello Omer,

I belive you are using ASA8.3 or higher..  you can see the string as follows

more system:running-config

and come down to the snmp configuration part..

Hope this helps

Hello Omer,

If I am not wrong, snmp string can not be encrypted, so was wondering how you were able to see only asteriks in th eoutput

regards

Harish.

Hi Harish,

It is an ASA 5520, and it shows:

snmp-server community *****

I'm not sure if there is something that I have to disable.

Hello Omer,

What  is the version of ASA  and snmp you are using ?

regards

Harish
