SNMP configuration for Firepower modules in ASAs within FMC

Hello everybody,

our customer is running FMC rel. 6.6.4 and Firepower 2110 and Firepower modules in ASA5516-X,
all are running rel. 6.6.4 too.

Now they need to query the interface utilization by SNMP.

This is running fine for the FTD but there seems to be a difference to
Firepower modules in ASA5516-X in terms of SNMP configuration.

When he copmpared the devices screen of the units the Firepower 2110 have a SNMP tab
but the Firepower modules in ASA5516-X do not (see screen dumps).

I have two questions:

1. Is there a document that gives an overview about the differences
between the Firepower appliances and the ASA-based Firepower-modules?

2. I did not find a good guide that describes the SNMP configuration
ASA-based Firepower-modules. Can this be done in the FMC at all?

Thanks a lot for all hints!

There are many many differences between FTD And a Firepower service module. No one document will list them all.

A Firepower service module does not support any SNMP MIBs.

Dear Marvin,

thanks for the fast reply!

To give the customer the possibility to monitor the interface utilization even

if the Firepower service module does not support SNMP MIBs could they

use the SNMP MIBs of the ASA5516 instead that contains the module?

Thanks a lot!
