Standby ASA keeps crashing

Hello,

I have 2 x 5510's in ative/standby mode, things look fine until the active one needs to be failed over and I realise the standby oneis dead.  I never notice as the lights on the ASA look good, I only nice as I can't telnet or console onto it, how can I debug this issue?

Thanks

Since it's apparently not operating for you at all, I'd suggest power cycling while connected to console. Capture the output as it may give you an indicator of the problem. It should at least boot into rommon mode.

If that doesn't happen your options are limited (aside from a TAC case for an RMA - but if you had Smartnet you probably wouldn't need to ask here). The only thing you can really do is try opening it up and reseating both the memory module and the internal Compact Flash card.
