throughput on a dmvpn

Greetings,

I am using a 851(12.4-15T7) router (spoke) over a 6M DSL connection connecting to a 3620(12.3-22a) router (hub) with a 100M pipe to the Internet.

My download speeds at the spoke location over the dmvpn are 1M at best. Without the dmvpn I am getting 5-6M.

Is this normal for a dmvpn, or should I be expecting better speeds?

Unable to say how "normal", but often with VPN, when working with full size packets (e.g. downloads), you often bump into packet fragmentation issues that degrade performance. If not already doing so, and if supported, at either or both ends, try the interface command "ip tcp adjust-mss 1400".
