Hello everyone,

I have a question.

I need to add more than one ip adresses in the same physical interface, without creating sub interfaces, its possible?

The addresses are in the same subnet.

Tks a lot.

Hmmm, the only way I think this could be possible is if you create a static ARP entry for the "secondary" IP address with the MAC being the MAC of the outside interface. I don't know if this will work or not, so you will want to lab it up.

Hello Collin,

Hmm, i think this could not possible, because the "ARP" resolve the IP adress for only one MAC,

and we would have a problem with users pointing to the physical interface mac address.

Anyway, is there any way to create a sub interface with the same range of the original interface?

Tks.

Hi Rafael,

This aint an option on the ASA, you can only assign when IP on the one physical interface, you can only create redundant interfaces on ASA, so that if one interface goes down, the other would work but those also need to be different interfaces.
