update IDSM-2 v4 to IPS v5

hi all,

I am using IDSM-2 ( WS-SVC-IDSM-2). Now, I update IDSM-2 from version 4 to version 5. I use Cisco VMS v2.0 to manage IDSM-2. Now, If I update IDSM from v4 to v5, do I need to update Cisco VMS v2.0 ? If I update, what I need to update?

VMS 2.3 which includes IPS MC 2.1 can manage 5.0 sensors (not 5.1).

Once you upgrade the VMS to VMS 2.3, upgrade the IPS MC 2.1 separately to IPS MC 2.2 separately.

It will require your existing VMS 2.x license.

Please note that VMS is end of sale. If you are planning to use IPS 6.x, please consider CSM (Cisco Security Manager).
