see 9.7.x release notes upgrade path below.

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/asa/asa97/release/notes/asarn97.html#ID-2152-0000000a

also, has anyone used/terminate a VTI on an ASA? any caveats i should know of?

Hi John,

Yes, you can upgrade directly from 9.4.2.11 to 9.7.1.4.

Regarding the caveats for VTI on ASA, I was not able to find any major caveats except some enhancements for support of EIGRP, multicast traffic and OSPF.

Regards,

Aditya

on the download site it's only 9.6.3.
