Hi
We have a customer that wishes to upgrade a HA pair of ASA5520's in Active standby mode from 8.4.7(30) and a HA pair ASA5585-X (I believe as the current code has the smp designation in the image file) in context mode from 9.1.(2) to the latest code release. I've found some upgrade path docs saying the these versions can be upgraded directly to 9.1(3) or later without interim version patching, can someone clarify if these devices can be upgraded to version code 9.5 without interim versions being required.
regards
Alan

As per the release doc:
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/asa/asa95/upgrade/upgrade95.html#pgfId-116464
You can upgrade directly to 9.5.x version.

Hi Dinesh
Thanks for the quick response the customer want's the latest version and 9.6 has been release in March so they'll want to move to that, I did some more digging and found a upgrade path document for 9.6 and it advises the same as the 9.5 doc you added 8.4(5) and later along with 9.1(2) can both go directly to 9.6(1).
Thanks again for the help

Hello... you are talking to upgrade HA pair of ASA5520's. This platform is a Legacy model and according to the ASA Compatibility Matrix, Legacy models are not compatible with 9.5 version. Check it out here: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/asa/compatibility/asamatrx.html#pgfId-112283
Latest version you can go up to for this particular model is 9.1(7.4)
