Upgrade PDM on Pix 501

I have a pix 501 that I have recently upgraded the version to 6.2(2). I have tried to upgrade the PDM to the same version (currently 1.1(2)) however I get an error saying not enough flash memory.

Show flash retirns the following....

pixfirewall# sh flash

flash file system: version:2 magic:0x12345679

file 0: origin: 0 length:1540152

file 1: origin: 2490368 length:10054

file 2: origin: 0 length:0

file 3: origin: 2621440 length:3528136

file 4: origin: 7864320 length:280

pixfirewall#

How can I tell which is the PDM file and how can I delete it to free space for the new pdm file.

Thanks very much,

Richard Benson

What command are you using to copy it? Are you sure you have the syntax correct - when you copy up a new PDM, it will overwrite the old one, and you should never have flash space problems. PIX OS isn't as flexible with flash as IOS is - you really don't have the ability to store multiple files up there, etc - it should be almost foolproof.

Your quite right I was doing it wrong. Sorry to have wasted your time.

Cheers,

Rich
