Upgrading ASA

Hi,

I have a scenario wherein I have a ASA 5520 configured as active/standby.

Unfortunately I'm still running version 7.2 of the ASA, what I wanted to do is to upgrade to at least version 8.4.

I know I can upgrade it with zero downtime, but my question is, what will happen with the configs specially the NAT part?

since the NAT command is different from each version, what will happen when I upgrade to newer version?

Will it automatically translate it to the new commands? or do I have to rewrite it?

If you can enlighten me on this scenario, it would be great.

Thanks,

Don

This document will explain all your questions:

NAT Migration File

When your NAT configuration is migrated, and the following file is added to the root directory: nat_ident_migrate. The presence of this empty file indicates that the configuration was migrated, and prevents re-migration at bootup.
