How can I upgrade a FO only license firewall that is sitting on my desk from 6.3 to a higher version, since it will not allow me to ping anything. Do I do it from the console like you can on a router? Please help
Basically, you have to fail it over to make it think it's primary. You can do that live by shutting the primary down, or you can just disconnect it from the failover and I think you will be able to upgrade it that way.
The problem is you can't anyting with a standalone Failover firewall. As soon as you connect a UR firewall with the failover cable u should be able to ping and update it like a UR Pix.
