Upgrading the License on ASA-SSM-20 Module

Im trying to upgrade the license key on the SSM-20 module on an ASA 5520 but it keeps failing.

I get an error message ' failed to update license on sensor. err Invalid License.'

Im pretty sure our supplier has sent me the wrong key but what i would like to know is; the serial number that is attached to the license key - should the serial number match the SSM-20 module or should it match the ASA5520 chassis?

It should be the serial# of the SSM-20 module. If they have registered the license with cisco, you should be able to perform an automatic update with your license. Just make sure that your SSM-20 mgmt interface is connected to the Internet/has access to the Internet.
