Urgent : Upgrading to IPS 4200

Dear friends....

we are using cisco IDS 4235 with OS Version 2.4.18 and we want to upgrade it to the IPS 4200.

my question here is what is the requirment that i need to do it are there any module i should get or what?

i dont think u need any hardware for upgrading IDS 4235.. the only criteria for the IPS 5.0 upgrade is the memory .. make sure you have sufficient DRAM... i guess u need to have 512 Mb memory on the IPS box...

you must first upgrade your IDS software to 4.1... see the release notes of each version and make sure you have the base version of the software running... release notes can be found in the following URL:

once u have 4.1 version of IDS running, u can upgrade to 5.0. the following URL has a very good training resource which gives a step-by step upgrade:
