Using MS SMS through 3005

Has anyone experienced this? While connected through the 3005 (no split tunneling) and trying to launch SMS admin console, it is not able to connect to the site database. If I go through MS VPN it works fine. Not sure if this is a netbios issue or not.

If anyone has any ideas please pass them along.
