Hi,

I want to update the vFTD from version 6.2.0-362 to 6.2.0.1-10, but i got the error message "update install failed" after about 20-30 seconds, there is no further information about the error.

the Version from my FMC is 6.2.0.1-10.

regards

Robin

Log into the vFTD clish (command line interface shell) and look under the directory /var/log/sf.

There should be a folder for the 6.2 update with a status.log file in it. That file will tell you the exact subroutine that failed and you can look in that sub folder for even more details.

One common cause is that the access control policy was not current prior to attempting the update.

Hi Marvin,

i don't find the a folder name with 6.2, but I find one with name 5.4. There is a status.log file, and show me it stopped at the version check. is it right? There is a picture, you can find it in attachment.

if it is richt, it could not be version problem, i use the FMC version 6.2.0.1-10 and FTP version 6.2.0-362 to do the update...

That's a VDB status file (4.5.0-271).

Still, it's useful to us as it indicates the VDB update (part of the Access Control Policy) is failing. Without the current ACP, you cannot update.

Drill down a bit further into that "pre" folder that's referenced - there may be a furhter log file in there telling what is failing in 011_check_versions.pl perl script.

If you open a TAC case, this is probably where they will check too. :)

This post just made my day. I was having this issue trying to update to 6.2.3.
I was able to update to 6.2.2.3 but not to 6.2.3.
The ACP was not current. After deploying I was able to update.
Thank you for everything!

@SantiRodríguez you're welcome.
