Hi,
I am troubleshooting an issue with Voice Connection thru the FWSM. Our Network Team wants to know if "Voice packets marked with EF (DSCP – 46) bit" passes thru the FWSM or not.
To check this I am using the packet capture thru the CLI but that doesn't seems to help as I am not getting the required information in the captures logs.
Can someone help how can I capture this specific information to troubleshoot the issue.
Thanks!
Chetan

Chetan,
All QOS marking (IP precedence and DSCP) is preserved through the firewall and is not remarked.
Running a capture on the FWSM (link below instructs how), you can save these and veiw in wireshark to see inside the packets.
Not sure what voice traffic issues you are seeing, but inspection of things such as SIP may cause quality issues due to the inspection overhead.

To do the captures please use
https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-1222
It explains how to capture and how to exctract the captures off of the firewall.
Note what is mentioned there that in earlier FWSM versions there were issues with captures not capturing as expected. Later FWSM versions work ok though.
I hope it helps.
