What are the steps to move FTD to a new FMC?

I have an FTD currently being managed by a virtual FMC and I'm moving it to a FS4000 appliance.

Is there any documentation for the proper steps to move the FMC?

I already have the policies and objects created on the new FMC. What happens to the interfaces configuration when it's migrated? Do I need to reconfigure it manually?

IF you have Rules and policies already in place you need to export them to the new FMC.

If you have HA in place you can not add the device to the new FMC and must disable HA first. For this you need to run 

configure manager delete
config high-availability disable

The you can add to the new FMC using 

configure manager add x.x.x.x pre-shared-key
