What is FirePower? is hardware modules ? is software ? is license ?

Dear All,

I am Firepower newbie.

My client is using ASA 5512-X WITHOUT Firepower, they want to use something like UTM function.

I googled and find Firepower may be good choice.

But I don't Firepower is hardware modules? or software ? or i need buy extra license?

Hello Team,

You can integrate ASA with Firepower. Firepower software and hardware modules are available. You can integrate Firepower software module with ASA 5512.To manage the Firepower modules you can use the Firesight management Center (virtual and hardware ).To manage the Firepower modules you need a minimum of Protection and Control license and you need to buy it separately from Cisco Global Licensing team.
