Will the installation of SFR SW Module erase any firewall configuration?

HI,

I am fairly new in Cisco technology and trying to install the FirePower Services SFR SW module on our -ASA-5525-X and just want to confirm if installing the software module will erase any current firewall configuration. There is currently IPS software module installed which we will uninstall prior to installing SFR but was wondering if all this will erase any current firewall configuration. Thanks

SFR is different, it will not do any changes on FW config. but suggest to take backup and do this changes in maintenance windows always suggested.

ASA image upgrade for example from 9.1 to 9.9. Will that erase the configuration?  configuration of ASA  you mean,

if ASA upgrade there is no configuration erased, but look the upgrade path and relase notes before upgrading to any code.
