will upgrading my ASA help my transfer rate?

I have an ASA5505 and it is connected to a 10MG internet line. I am transfering a lot of data and maxing out the pipe, transfering all my data (backup traffic) over the internet (VPN) takes about 15hours, my question is that will it be any faster if I upgrade to a PIX515e?  The pipe will obviously not change, it will still be 10MG.

I doubt it since the ASA 5505 has a throughput of up to 100 Mbps even over VPN. See the data sheet.

The Pix product line has been discontinued for some time now. So even though a 515E is rated for up to ~130 Mbps over VPN, I doubt it would help you out.

Have you monitored your actual throughput and tried to definitively identify the bottleneck?
