I did search "ASA throughput" here on the support community and read through 20 something posts about it, but I still am confused and have a question. Not talking about any model in particular, imagine in terms of throughput, a 400Mbps max for multi-protocol traffic with all inspection, etc. No bells or whistles IPS or anything else. That 400Mbps refers to the max throughput of all interfaces combined, input and output. But I'm confused about the logic. If there's a single bus, imagine a steady stream of 200 Mbps of traffic coming in the inside interface and going out the outside interface with literally no other traffic. How is the really using all of the available 400Mbps? Is it not just 200Mbps passing through the bus or am I missing something? Any help with clarifying this is appreciated! Thanks!
