Core Issue
Online Insertion and Removal (OIR) of network modules is not supported on Cisco 3620 and 3640 series routers. A drop in output voltage from the power supply is reported as an OIR event. Such events on the 3620 and 3640 series routers typically indicate a hardware problem. Although the 3660 series router does have limited support for OIR, spurious OIR events that occur without the physical insertion or removal of a network module can also indicate a problem with the hardware.
Resolution
Reseat all of the network modules. If there are WAN Interface Cards (WIC) installed in the network modules, reseat them as well. The 3620 and 3640 series routers do not support OIR, so the router needs to be powered off.
If the error is still present after reseating the cards, refer to Troubleshooting OIR Events on 3600 Series Routers to determine the faulty network module.
To determine the faulty module without converting the hexadecimal field, power down the router and remove all the network modules. Insert one module and power the router on. If the error is not present, power off, and add another module. Repeat until the faulty module is discovered.
If you receive the %OIRINT: OIR Event has occurred oir_ctrl 10 oir_stat CFCC error message on the 3620 or 3640 series router, the power supply is failing.
