We are pleased to announce the General Availability of the SD-Access Design Tool.
Using your Cisco.com login, please navigate to cs.co/sda-design-tool.
The SD-Access Design Tool is designed to assist in the creation of a High-Level Design (HLD) by incorporating your network requirements, deployment details, planned hardware platforms, and planned software versions.
Tool Overview
- The Tool begins with a current network assessment which gathers details on any existing Cisco DNA Center and Identity Services Engine (ISE) deployments in your network along with the number of endpoints.
- Next, the Tool asks targeted questions on scale and latency so that potential flags can be raised if your network goes beyond thresholds defined in the Cisco DNA Center data sheet. These flags allow for a reconsidered and reevaluation of the network design in advance of the deployment.
- In the third section, the Tool asks about certain special-case network characteristics. A portion of the network may appear to only need to be a single Fabric Site. However, these special-case network characteristics notify you of factors in these portions of that network that may actually require multiple Fabric Sites.
- Once these details are gathered, the Tool asks you to provide specific details on each of your Fabric Site profiles. Your network may have reference profiles sizes such as Small Branch, Medium Site, and Fabric in a Box Site. Each Site Profile you create is added to the overall design.
- Once complete, the Tool provides a Customer Requirement Document (CRD) which assists in the creation of your HLD. Included in the CRD with each Site Profile is a reference topology diagram that is specific to your deployment based on your answers in the Tool.
