1.1. What cellular bands are supported on Cellular Gateway?

A. The cellular bands that are supported depend on which particular Cellular Gateway device you are referencing. Please see below for the bands that each Cellular Gateway model supports.

•4G / LTE: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, 17,18,19, 20, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30, 32, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 46, 48, 66, 71

•3G / HSPA+: 1, 2, 4, 5, 8, 9, 19

 

CG522-E

•5G Sub 6 GHz: n1, n2, n3, n5, n28, n41, n66, n71, n77, n78, n79

•4G / LTE: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, 17,18,19, 20, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30, 32, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 46, 48, 66, 71

1.2. Does Cellular Gateway have eSIM support?

A. eSIM support is not present as of the time of writing (March 2022).

 

1.3. Is IPv6 supported?

A. IPv6 support is not present as of the time of writing (March 2022).

 

1.4. Is reverse Telnet via serial port between the Cellular Gateway possible?

A. Yes, starting in software version 17.6.

 

1.5. Do the Cellular Gateways have FirstNet certification?

A. CG418-E will have FirstNet certification planned for Q4 2022. CG522-E certification is planned but not yet complete.

 

1.6. Does the Cellular Gateway support both 5G Standalone Mode and Non-Standalone Mode?

A. Only Non-Standalone is supported for 5G at this time.

 

2. Provisioning

 

2.1. How do I connect the Cellular Gateway to my router? Do I need a PIM slot?

A. No, you do not need a PIM slot on your router to make use of the Cellular Gateway. The Cellular Gateway can be connected to any WAN port capable of receiving a DHCP IP address.

 

2.2. Is ZTP supported?

A. Yes.

 

3. Management

 

3.1. Do the Cellular Gateways have their own management system?

A. On-box management can be done via CLI, with support for WebUI coming later. To manage multiple Cellular Gateways, Cisco vManage can be utilized (a management license is required).

 

3.2. Is network traffic visible via vManage?

A. Currently, only LTE is available to be viewed. 5G support not present as of the time of writing (March 2022).
