Core Issue

Route redistribution is used to propagate routes learned using one protocol into another routing protocol. Redistribution of dynamically learned Interior Gateway Protocol (IGP) routes into Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) is not recommended. When Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) is redistributed into Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), only the inter-area and intra-area routes get redistributed. Issuing the redistribute command by itself does not result in redistribution of OSPF external or Not-So-Stubby Area (NSSA)-external routes into BGP.

Resolution

To redistribute OSPF external routes into BGP, issue the redistribute command with the external keyword in router configuration mode. To redistribute OSPF NSSA-external routes into BGP, issue the redistribute command with the NSSA-external keyword in router configuration mode.

For additional information, refer to Understanding Redistribution of OSPF Routes into BGP.

Thanks, this just solved a problem I was having where OSPF was not redistributing into BGP routes learned via external LSA. In most cases this shouldn't be a problem, because all the BGP speakers in an AS should be connected via iBGP and so there is no need for redistribution into BGP of routes learned via OSPF external LSA. It's a shame that the resources you linked are dead now.
