Core Issue

Administrative distance is a parameter used by the router to choose a route learned through a specific  routing protocol, if the same route is learned through more than one protocol. In other words, it indicates the believability of a certain protocol.

Resolution

Every routing protocol and static route has a default administrative distance value which can be modified depending on the need. The lower the value, the more preferred is the route. Changing the administrative distance is required in situations when a specific path is preferred over a different path, such as dial back-up scenarios, and when multiple routing protocols are deployed in a network with mutual redistribution happening between them.
