Core issue
After an upgrade to an affected release of Catalyst Operating System (CatOS) software, the system can encounter an exception. The output of the show log command displays this message:
Error Msg: mfree 2: m=0x8c994080
PID = 0 Kernel an

Resolution
This problem has been fixed in these releases and later versions:
- 6.4(8.10)
- 8.3(0.114)BOC
- 7.6(5.13)
- 8.2(1.22)
- 8.4(0.14)COC
As there is currently no workaround available, upgrade to one of above releases in order to resolve the problem.
