Core issue
After Policy-based Routing (PBR) is configured and applied in the source VLAN, the traffic flows according to the configured PBR but the switch debug does not show any output.
The show ip route-map counter does not increase for the PBR switched packets.
The debug ip policy and debug ip packet detail commands do not show any output.
Resolution
This is a normal behavior. On the Cisco Catalyst 6500 switch (Cat6k), PBR is implemented in hardware. When debugs are run for PBR on the Multilayer Switch Feature Card (MSFC), only packets that are sofware switched are seen. With this configuration, all packets are forwarded in hardware, and the debugs do not show any output.
