Installing Linux VMs Gives Black Screen

I have tried the following four Linux ISOs:

  • ubuntu-22.04.2-live-server-amd64.iso
  • Rocky-9.1-x86_64-minimal.iso
  • Rocky-8.7-x86_64-minimal.iso
  • Rocky-8.3-x86_64-minimal.iso

On all four ISOs, the VMs boot, I select the option to install the OS, but then the installer goes to a blank black screen.

I downloaded and tried the ubuntu cloud image, and it actually boots all the way up, but cloud images don't boot with a password  (meant for certificate auth only) and I'm not sure if/how I could pass a password to the image through bootstrapping.

Well, I guess I'm just not patient enough. It took nearly 10 minutes of the black screen, but they all eventually display the installer. Not sure what's going on or why they take so long to load the installer
