Hi,

I'm looking for a solution to connect two CP-6901 VoIP telephones (via a POE switch) to allow for basic voice calls from one to the other.

I do not have the option of a PBX server.

Can anyone please help by explaining what settings I need to apply to each VoIP telephone.

Many thanks

John

Doesn´t exist free call manager.  it is a cisco solution and it is expansive.   If you need to have stations inside your place, you can thing about using some free PBX.  As this phone supports SIP, they will be able to work with Free PBX.

Thanks for you help that great. I'll look for a free PBX.

How can such a complex and expensive setup be good for the environment. Analogue telephones are being replaced by VoIP SIP systems which cost 10-20 times the cost of a simple analogue telephone network. Just want a simple voice link between two rooms!

On the phone documentation is written:

"The Cisco Unified IP Phone requires Cisco Unified Communications Manager to handle call processing. See Cisco Unified Communications Manager Administration Guide or refer to the context-sensitive help in the Cisco Unified Communications Manager application to ensure that Cisco Unified Communications Manager is set up properly to manage the phone and to properly route and process calls. Which mean, you need a Call Manager in order to use this phones.

Which free call manager will work with these phones?
