Around here we have a say " dont try to fix what is not broken". But, the situation you described is very common and the outcome is unpredictible. First, check for the device uptime. If the uptime is not that long, the risk is small. You turn the device off, clean up very carefuly with some air compressor (dry ar) no umidity.
But if the uptme is too long be really carefully. Turn devices with very long uptime might increase the risk. Make sure you have backup config and make sure the impact it may cause in case anything goes wrong on this process.
If the device have redundancy is one thing, if not, it is more complicate.
