Hi,
I have open DNS servers set in my home router. I logged into my OpenDNS dashboard and set it to block youtube.com and youtube.co.uk
When I tried to access youtube on my pc it blocked me with an error about insecure connection
When my kids tried on their android devices that go through the router, it allowed them to view it.
Does anyone have any suggestions please

It looks like your kids' Android devices do not use OpenDNS. Visit http://welcome.opendns.com/ on these devices to verify this assumption.
If they do not use OpenDNS, check the network configuration if they really use your router's WLAN and not a cellular or other WLAN connection and if they don't have alternative DNS server addresses configured.

Hi Rob,
Thanks for the input. It's odd because we are all using my own wifi from my router which is set to openDNS. I too can access youtube via the app, maybe the app uses a different domain????
If I try and access youtube via my phone browser I get the security warning and no access.

Ah, this is new information that you used an App! You should have said this first! And yes, of course, Apps often use different domains or even IP addressing only. (IP addressing cannot be covered by a DNS service.)
