Enforcing Content Filtering with OpenDNS on my Netgear Orbi Network Not Working

I'm not a networking expert, but the OpenDNS setup seemed simple enough for my Orbi system.

Created a free OpenDNS account, created a new network using my external FIOS IP, entered the OpenDNS addresses and enabled OpenDNS in the router's webmin (hardware RBR40, firmware 2.3.5.30), and specified some categories and specific domains to block in OpenDNS settings.

After applying all those settings, I'm still able to browse to the sites I blocked, even after manually specifying the primary and secondary OpenDNS addresses on my PC as a test.

What am I missing here??  Thanks!

I think you did not need to enable OpenDNS in the router‘s web admin. LPC and OpenDNS are incompatible services.

That seems to have done it.  Thanks!  Why would they put that very misleading setting in there?

No, not misleading. As I said: you can use either LPC (Live Parental Controls - what you call "enabled OpenDNS in the router's webmin") or OpenDNS/Umbrella, never both at the same time.  The reason is that your DNS queries go to the same destination, but the dashboards are different.  Results will be random and inconsistent if using both services in parallel.
