I use Telstra for my mobile phone. Up until recently, I hadn't noticed any problems with it, and when at home, it usually provided a superior call quality.
Recently, however, I found my calls dropping out, or failing to connect at all if I use WiFi calling.
Been doing some digging..
Telstra is MCC 505, MNC 001, so my phone to find the edge servers over internet queries for:
epdg.epc.mnc001.mcc505.pub.3gppnetwork.org
If I use OpenDNS, I get:
101.168.246.193
149.135.224.24
149.135.226.9
101.168.246.65
If I use my local ISP, or a +trace through 8.8.8.8 I get:
149.135.224.26
149.135.233.3
149.135.232.3
149.135.226.11
Any ideas why OpenDNS would be returning different IPs to Google and my local DNS for Australian telco Telstra?

For the time being, I've overridden the dnsmasq config in my router, so instead of going to OpenDNS, it'll query the responsible server at Telstra..
server=/mnc001.mcc505.pub.3gppnetwork.org/203.50.248.9
203.50.248.9 being ns3.telstra.com

Hello,
When not using OpenDNS are you still having problems with calls dropping out or connection failures when using wifi calling.
If you are not please advise on what operating system your phone(s) are using.
Thanks
