I've added all these on the Always Block list:
discord.com
discord.gg
discord app.com
etc
but it seems discord.com slips thru OpenDNS. If I test with another blacklisted site, the Cisco message "This site is blocked" does show up.
What kind of hacking is discord.com doing to get around OpenDNS ?
How I can block it effectively ?

Did you also add discordapp.com ?
It could be that the discord app doesn’t make use of DNS, but uses IP addressing, so you cannot block it with OpenDNS. But these are things which can merely be answered in other forums or with an internet search.
For example, you could block their IP addresses, protocols and port numbers on the router.

Discord.com appears to be slipping through OpenDNS for me too. I added the same 3 domains and it still goes through. Please help.

We OpenDNS users cannot know the domains being used by Discord. Only Discord can know. Or you may search the internet for this information as I did before. Unfortunately the link provided by me does not work currently anymore.

rotblitz, are you saying these instructions ( https://www.swipetips.com/how-to-block-discord-on-a-router/ ) don't work?

Read again! As I said, "the link provided by me does not work" at this time (on July 14). I did not make any comment on the instructions. Reading thoroughly can be of valuable advantage.

Since this thread comes up in searches, I'll add to it. I've successfully blocked Discord by adding these domains to my OpenDNS domain filters:
discordapp.com
discord.com
discord.gg
discord.app.com
discordapp.net
