Is the DNS settings incorrect on your website for Mac computers

I have been trying to get OpenDNS to work on my iPhone for ages following directions on your website, but it would never block any websites. I tried again with my new Mac and same issue. I later discovered another website that recommended a different DNS servers....

Your website suggests 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 and I could never get it to work.

I have now started to use 208.67.222.123. & 208.67.220.123 and whamo it is now filtering websites.
The website I used is http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/article/web-filtering-with-opendns

Please advice thank you.

What is still missing beside what you listed, as you said "it is now filtering websites"?  What do you want to be advised about in addition?

If you're looking for different or additional instructions: https://support.opendns.com/categories/20080020

If it doesn't work as you expect, then copy & paste the complete plain text output of the following diagnostic command here:

   nslookup -type=txt debug.opendns.com.

I guess I want to confirm that the DNS settings are correct seeing that they were pulled off a 3rd party site, and I could find no thread on this forum that suggested to do otherwise...

I copied and pasted the plain text output of the requested diagnostic command below...

Server: 208.67.222.123

Address: 208.67.222.123#53

Non-authoritative answer:

debug.opendns.com text = "server 1.lax"

debug.opendns.com text = "flags 20 0 70 1950800780000000000"

debug.opendns.com text = "originid 0"

debug.opendns.com text = "actype 0"

debug.opendns.com text = "source 76.90.140.117:64983"

That's fine execpt that you did not register your IP address 76.90.140.117 at your dashboard: https://dashboard.opendns.com/settings/
As soon as you do, content filtering and stats will work also with the normal OpenDNS resolver addresses, not just with the FamilyShield ones.

"Is the DNS settings incorrect on your website for Mac computers"

LOL.  I should mention that I do not have "DNS settings" on my website, not for Mac computers and not for others.  And I really doubt that you know my websites.

I'm confused now your website gave me directions for these DNS settings.

Apparently we are talking about 2 different things, may I ask what you are referring to so I understand more.

Thank you.

No, my website doesn't give any directions for DNS settings.  It seems you're talking about OpenDNS' website, not mine.  I'm a user like you.

Back to the topic, did you solve your problem with registering your IP address at the dashboard?
